After extensive testing with Samsung smart TV's here in Canada and in the UK, it is the case that on some devices BBC iPlayer will not work. This is probably because Samsung locks down various apps by the TV model number, as model numbers in the UK are different to those in Canada and elsewhere.
Sadly there isn't very much we can do about this as it's a hardware limitation.
Please note that the VUDU app is not available to watch on any Samsung device sold out of the US. You can download it - but it will not workThis is due to a serial number block for this app. This is out of our control.
This guide will show you how to set up your Samsung TV/Blu-ray player to use our service. We'll also cover installing the UK apps (bbc iPlayer, ITV Player etc) & The US apps (Hulu Plus etc)
First you need to press Menu on your remote
This will open the settings menu > scroll down to Network
Next select Network Settings
Your TV/Bluray player will now tell you how you have it connected to the internet. Press Start.
If you have a wireless Network you'll have to select your network and input your passkey. If your connected via ethernet this will not appear.
Your device will now test that it's connected to the internet. Next select IP Settings
Scroll down to DNS settings and input our DNS address then press OK
Your connection will test itself again. Press Next to save the settings and exit the menu.
Smart Hub Steps
Next, press the smart button on your remote,
When you see the Smart Hub (below) you need to press fast forward, 2, 8, 9, rewind keys on your TV remote (If you have a newer F series Samsung TV please use the new keypress as detailed here)
